Pedal-Powered Honey Extraction
In 2010, The Beez Kneez, LLC was born out of a sticky marriage between bikes and bees of delivering honey to the sweet beeople of Minneapolis. In 2011, The Beez Kneez LLC was gifted a broken hand-crank extractor. After some cumbersome attempts to make it go with a drill on her first honey harvest, owner Kristy Lynn Allen had an idea. What about making a pedal-powered honey extractor? Your legs are stronger than your back. Anyway, we can use bicycles to power the business, lessen our carbon footprint and make for a fun way to harvest liquid gold. Win win win! Look for the Beez Kneez Pedal-Powered Honey Extractor to hit the market this summer!

Local Raw Honey
We have several varieties of raw honey to offer on our website and for sale at our shop, The Beez Kneez Honey House. Including Dandelion, Country Wildflower, Camp Beez Kneez Wildflower, Clover Basswood, and Buckwheat. All of our honeys are raw and crystalize with time. This means we never heat it hotter than the bees keep their hives maintaining the natural flavors from the flower and the enzymes added by the bees.
Beekeeping practices
We manage around 150 hives in the metro area and in the St. Croix Valley on partnering farms for both production and education purposes. We are actively breeding from our own stock to improve the genetics of our bees that overwinter in the north, we focus on best management practices for maintaining a sustainable apiaries and use organic mite treatments only when necessary.
