Description of apiary partner/teaching site: Lily Springs Farm is a 100-acre private reserve in Western Wisconsin, comprised of woodland, wetland, open fields, and lake. We are very excited to bring our bees and students to this site for the first time. They are growing elderberries, hazelnuts, hemp, mushrooms and many other bee supportive plants. They are dedicated to a chemical free landscape utilizing natural farming practices and working with goats to clear the forest. As a farm demonstrating the use of regenerative agriculture, they provide experiences and training for people interested in building a resilient future. Permaculture and whole systems design are being applied to restore our habitats to health and to build a perennial-based farm system that integrates land, people and the built environment.
